How To: Make Blazing Hot Sriracha Salt at Home

Make Blazing Hot Sriracha Salt at Home

What can't Sriracha do? You can use it to upgrade your ramen, spice up your candy, or even try one of various recipes to make your own. And if you want an easy way to add it to basically everything, you can make your own Sriracha salt, which is just as awesome as it sounds.

Instructables user ColumbusCOOK made the simplest condiment ever by combining about half a cup of salt with "a healthy squirt of Sriracha" and shaking it around in a plastic container. Once it's mixed together, just spread it on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and let it sit for 24 to 36 hours until it's completely dry.

Once it is dry, store it in an airtight container or an empty salt shaker or pepper grinder. If you don't feel like waiting a whole day, you can dry it in the oven at 350 degrees for 8 hours instead.

For an alternative method, you could also try drying out a thin layer of Sriracha sauce in a pan at 200 degrees for 80 minutes or so, then crush up the dried out Sriracha into a powder and mix together with some salt. Check out Tasting Table for more details on making Sriracha powder.
